Summer

Summer has come and is almost gone, and I haven't posted a single picture.  Kade and I had a few fun trips this summer, but mostly we just worked and caught up with some good friends.  Since we live in Lehi we are a great stopping place for lots of people.  I don't think a single week has gone by that we didn't have someone staying with us.  It makes us feel like empty-nesters when everyone leaves.  Here are just a few pictures of our trips this summer.  The first trip we took was to Oklahoma.  My Great Grandma was turning 90 so we had a large family celebration.
This is my cute niece Abbi on our flight to Oklahoma City
My grandma and I were trying to decide if we should enter the wheel barrow race.  This was for the Prague 4th of July celebration.
It was fun to catch up with my Grandpa Reese.  He took Kade and I on a tour of all his land.  I loved getting to hear all his stories!
This is me navigating through "Fairy Land"  This spot is beautiful in the spring with the run off.  It just looked dead then, but sometimes it looks amazing.
Kade and I in the back of the gator just going for a ride.
I think this should be kade's new toy.  Doesn't my boy look Sexy on a tractor?
It has been so long since I have ridden a horse.  It was so fun to get to ride through the acres of land.
Kade was excited to go for a ride as well.
This is my Grandma going down our home-made slip and slide.  Baby oil and water mixed with a tarp and we had a ball.  The older kids just watched and took pictures while the younger cousins played.
These are three of my favorite people

Grandma Meemaw's 90th Birthday party!!
The whole reason we came down was for this wonderful lady.  Back to front: Arica, Brette, Kendle, Bari and Grandma Parrish or Meemaw.
This was our whole family that could make it to the party.

The party was held at the Oklahoma science museum.  It was so neat to see all the fun things on display.  There were a lot of space items.  Kade loved that since he is on a space kick.

We were also able to go see the Oklahoma bombing memorial.  This place was so amazing.  It was touching to see the monument that was created from such a horrible event.

Tulip Festival

It is so nice to live in an area with a ton of things to do.  The Martinez family decided that we should all go to Thanksgiving Points Tulip festival together.  It was so much fun.  We went on the last day that it was open, and it looked to be a chilly day, but it turned out to be wonderful.  I love spending time with out nieces and getting to spoil them!  We even got a great laugh when Mazee decided to feed the fish Kade's very expensive glasses.  :)  It was quite the experience.  Kade had to go into the fish pond to get them out.  The maintenance guy was just about to leave for the day and so Kade offered to go in after them.  I love how creative that guy can get.  He just loved going "swimming." Here are some pictures of our adventure.

We love spending time with the girls.  They are helping us learn to be parents :)

Karen and her sister get so excited when they talk

Thank goodness he found them, we don't have a spare set

Mazee and I, she was so much fun

Kade loves these fountains behind us

The light of the world exhibit is going to be awesome!  I am so impressed that they are going to display something about the first vision.  What a neat experience it was to see this.  I don't know where we would be with out Joseph Smith.  I am so grateful for all the hate that he endured so we could have the restored gospel on the earth today.  What an amazing man he was.

Easter

Easter is such a fun time in the Gunnell/ Martinez house hold. Grandpa Gunnell every year does a scavenger/ mystery easter egg hunt for all the grand kids. Now this isn't just any Easter egg hunt, it involves money. We love him and love how creative he is. This year he did something differently to make it less competitive and a little more relaxed. We first started with a "Lottery game"  It was fun to see how many of the adults didn't understand the rules of our lottery game.  We played it just like the powerball.  Grandpa Gunnell was so excited that he didn't have to pay out on that one.  I guess it's true, the lottery is for the lucky ones. :) The next game we played involved a game of chance.  Grandpa Gunnell tied 20 eggs to a tree and we all got to pick one. The catch was that we choose a number before hand to see when you got to pick your egg.  You just had to pick a random egg that was hanging from the tree.  The last rule was you couldn't open the egg until everyone had one. Here is a pic of the eggs on the tree

It's always fun to see what he will come up with from year to year. It's also nice to have a little bit extra cash on hand.  We love you

Cruize

Hey everyone,

It has been forever since I posted on our blog.  We just got the internet at our home so it should be easier to post things.  I know that this is way late, but we wanted to share our latest vacation with all of you.   It was a 7 day cruise to the western caribbean.  Kade and I invited my parents to go and we had a great time.
Our port of calls were Cozumel Mexico, Costa Maya Mexico, Mahogany Bay Isla Roatan, and Grand Cayman, Cayman Island.   Here are a few pictures.

Kade cut his eye open the first morning we were on the boat

Mom, Dad and I just taking a break.  On our way to shop in Cozumel
We played games the 4 of us all the time. :)  We also ate a ton

In Costa Maya

Also in Costa Maya we got to hold a baby tiger!  It was so fun, and he was so cute. He liked Kade more than me and would chew on his hands.  I wanted to take him home, but I'm pretty sure that it's not allowed.
It was like he was posing for this pic for me.

Playing in the pool on a day at sea

They say that if you kiss a sting ray it brings good luck.  Our guide wouldn't let me kiss the sting ray until I gave him a little kiss too.  Can you see Kade in the back ground?
Getting a back massage from a sing ray
Also on Grand Caymon we got to go to a turtle farm.  My dad loves turtles.
 Kade holding a baby turtle.
My mom also holding a turtle.  Can you tell our family thought this was way cool.

We had so much fun and can't wait to go on another cruise.  We loved every minute of being in the sun and seeing new places.
